The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the 29th Olympiad (BOCOG) announced that EF was selected as the Official Language Training Services Supplier of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

As the Beijing 2008 language training services supplier, EF will provide English training services to the Chinese judges (also known as National Technical Officers) translators, interpreters, and BOCOG staff using EF's advanced learning system.

Mrs. Yuan Bin, Director of the Marketing Department of BOCOG, expresses her appreciation of EF's active involvement in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. She said, "The Olympic Games is not only a grand sporting event, but also a platform for global cultural exchange. The important support from the EF professional training team will contribute to the successful staging of this world-focused event, where we shall welcome guests from all over the globe to share the great experience of the Olympic Games in Beijing. BOCOG will take active measures to strengthen the ties with the sponsors and help them to achieve better development."

"EF is very honored and proud to support the Beijing Olympic Games. The Beijing 2008 Olympic Games are a chance for China to talk to the world - and English is the tool. EF was founded with the mission of tearing down the geographic, language and cultural barriers that separate people, and this mission fits well with the Olympic cause", said Bill Fisher, CEO of EF in China.

This is not the first time that EF has participated in the Olympics, as EF also supported the Olympic Games in Seoul 1988 to help train volunteers. Operating over 400 schools and offices in more than 50 countries worldwide, EF has helped more than 15 million students travel and study abroad.
